The rating is really not for this product. I searched a long time for a zip case that will house my Kindle 2 *WITH* the M-Edge jacket on. Most are way too big or too small. I finally found the perfect item. It is a Tucano case designed for the 7″ version of the eeePC Netbook.

To my surprise, i received a KINDLE for Christmas. Being a writer and a huge reader i was dubious about the KINDLE, but i LOVE it!! (Okay, this review isn’t about KINDLE, but i thought i’d start by saying i was skeptical about the whole KINDLE enterprise.) I quickly realized that to protect my KINDLE i needed a cover. So i studiously read all the reviews (my boyfriend thought i was insane) for all the various covers i was interested it. I was so discouraged after reading the reviews, i almost couldn’t make myself buy a cover. I finally “just picked one” and wow! did i make the right choice. I love my cover almost as much as my kindle.
I wanted something that would be easy to use and that i could keep the KINDLE in even while using it. (I figured i’d most likely drop it while using it or transferring into or out of case!) At the same time, i wanted the KINDLE protected. I tend to bring a book (now my KINDLE) everywhere, so i wanted to be able to toss my kindle into my purse or bag without worrying that something would scratch the screen. The various leather versions looked nice, and some latched, but none appeared able to protect the kindle from misc things slipping in between the edges; for instance, if you threw your kindle into your bag with say, a hair clip. This bag (I bought BLACK) fits the kindle perfectly. No problem zipping and unzipping. I charged the battery last night leaving it in the case (on the floor no less! And i have dogs!) It appears to stay in the cover when open and I am reading. (So far so good!) The cover is light weight and has 2 pouches for carrying things like the power cord. All in all, i love it! My advice is, forget the reviews and buy this case if you want protection, yet usability.

I was looking for a case that would work for an “on the move” kindle. We frequently go camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities and I needed something that offered real protection. The zipper closes the kindle in completely, the inside is a soft fleece material to protect from scratches and bangs, and the corner support hold the kindle in place nice and snug. I also really like that it has a pocket to hold the power cord, and has a place designed for the use of a light (which I hope to purchase soon). A bonus to me is that I can use the kindle without taking it out of the case. My only complaint would be that it is difficult to zip the case closed in the open position. But with the cover folded back, you don’t really even need to zip it. It stays open without a problem. The case doesn’t add a lot of bulk to the kindle, and it will still fit comfortably on the tiny amount of space designed for a book on a treadmill. Also a bonus, it is attractive and comes in lots of colors. I would recommend this case to anyone who is looking for a cover that really protects the kindle.

I received my red w/black M-Edge Latitude Kindle jacket today and it made my day! After pouring over the reviews of just about every Kindle cover, I decided on this one because of it’s color and the fact that I could store the M-Edge light (which I also received today) in it. I immediately put my Kindle in the cover and had no problems zipping it closed or turning it on. It is a little more than I wanted to spend on a cover but when you think about the lifetime value you’ll get out of your Kindle because it is protected, it more than makes up for the cost. I am very happy with this cover.

This lightweight cover holds the Kindle snuggly without putting it at risk for cracking (as the covers with the side clips have been reported to do). The padding is all you need for protection whether you are carting it about the house with you or dropping it into your purse or backpack for a trip out. The light slides easily into the sleeve and, when not in use, can be tucked away in the back of the cover.
I only wish for the price to drop so I can get another because I marred the appearance of it when I got hair color dye on the outside. No dye on my Kindle though!!
