I would love to be able to use these without having to unplug my Cable TV on my HDTV. We have been able to get no support from the cable company on a splitter or how to use these.
The company, seems like a decent company and I would look to them to buy other items, and I have to admit, I have NOT contacted them for support on this product, but at this point, this product sits on a shelf collecting dust because it’s a major waste of time and energy, to move our 37″ tv every time we want to Wii in HD… When you work over 50 hours a week, and just want to Wii for a few hours when you get home, it’s too much of a hassle.

My complaints have nothing to do with the quality of this cable but with the “component” image you receive when turning on progressive scan on the Wii. In my opinion while the image may be a little sharper on my 42 inch 720p capable display it actually looks worse than interlace because of the pixilation you can now see.

I was told by the manager in the EB Games store near me that this item was not necessary for my HDTV. He said they had the TV in the store hooked up to the system and it was not a noticeable difference. I don’t know if that would be true for other HDTV’s but mine works fine without it,,,I just figured it might be even better but i’m not missing anything.

I do not yet own the Wii (victim of supply and demand issues.) But, I have been monitoring and I read of an interesting problem with the Wii that I wanted to ask about. One person reported problems with the precision of their Wiimote while playing “Trauma Center” to which another person confirmed and said that the issue was lag as the HD television had to convert video data that the Wii was outputting from standard resolution to the HD type that the HD TV was designed to display. This created a discrepancy between the displayed image and the controlled output that threw off the accuracy because things are out of sync. They went on to say that they connected their Wii to a standard TV and the problem was solved. I have only read this in one place but it has me curious. I read reviews of composite cables on Amazon that make it sound like the improvement in graphic quality wasn’t so amazing as to warrant the added expense, but if composite cables would solve potential lag issues when sending the Wii video to an HD TV than it seems like they would be a must buy. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

This cable DOES NOT WORK when you try to play games dowloaded from nintendo wii’s site as advertised that it would play all formats. Screen stays black and pauses when you try to use this set of cables, seems only set that works is the one that comes with the wii system. Seems like I was the guinea pig …. Did Not Work. I tried it on Toe jam and Earl and Zelda 1 from NES and Sega Respectively…
